Welcome and great wife!!! Nice 'bird. I recommend you head out to the TA Nationals Aug 25-27 in Dayton Ohio. You'll see amazing cars, amazing people and talk away and get many ideas for your own car. Once you go, you'll be hooked.
On another note, I recommend subframe connectors and maybe a wonder bar for your car, must have upgrades for sure.
Look at maybe UMI Performance for them, or Hawks. Wait till either has sales on (eg, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, etc.) usually 10% off.
Good thing about UMI design is you can use them as a jacking point for the car.

Re: New Here Glad I found This Site
Welcome! Good to see another person from the Barrie area on here ( I live in the south end of Barrie).
Over 20 years ago I owned a virtually identical '88 Formula, and it was the fond memories of owning that car that prompted me to pick up my current '91 Formula.
If you see this car cruising out through Innisfil (which I do on a pretty regular basis), its me.

Paradise Alley is usually very good for parts and you're not too far from them.
Good luck and great present.

As a follow up to your request for input on motor upgrades, I happen to have an L98 cam out in the shed when your plans progress to that point.
I can't speak from personal experience, but I've read numerous threads indicating the L98 cam is quite an upgrade in an LO3.

Thanks auto_god hadn't heard of that but I will look into it. The mechanic I have that is going to help on the mods races at sunset speedway he's full of knowledge. We'll have to meet for coffee so I can pick it up just let me know what you want for it.

Re: New Here Glad I found This Site
A lil stall converter out of a late 90s S10 pickup, a shift kit, and 3.42-3.73 gears and posi will really be a big upgrade to the car. Go with a 3in exhaust system and maybe some headers and y-pipe or even TPI manifolds and magnaflow y-pipe and you will definitely have a much more exciting ride to the grocery store. Good luck with it I really like the car.

Re: New Here Glad I found This Site
I think I have a 3.73 lsd but not positive. I will be putting a set of hedmen's on it and I have a new dynamax muffler for it. I am thinking of doing the L98 cam swap. Thing is now I have the opportunity to get a 90 TA with a LB9. Maybe I could swap the TBI out for TPI. If I get the 90 I will part it out if anyone needs anything let me know. Other option for the intake is a Holley 502-5 throttle body for a 305 pick up. Getting groceries is exciting now as it is but making it more exciting is great.

Re: New Here Glad I found This Site
Today I picked up a stock pontiac cd player. It's an 89 original thank god. Pressure washed the motor. Looking good enough to start building now. Going to pick up a fibreglass wing this week. Found a TBI I'm interested in on this site but can't respond to the post ? Any ideas.
