code 33 keeps coming...need suggestions.

my car is an 89 formula 350 pretty much stock...except for flowmaster, bbk throttlebody, modifited airbox, larger injectors and accel ignition.

the problem
code 33 continues to come up even after MAF, and MAF relays were replaced *both power and burnoff*

the code can be fixed if i shut it off for a min and unplug the maf then plug it back in....

anything else i should look at besides a new connector and ecm......

When it throws this code the car is fine minus being a little slow and the rpms surge from 1200 to 1800rpm while driving and my foot is off the gas....if my foot stays on the gas it is fine.

Thanx in advance for any help. This is a very annoying problem as you might imagine.

You're welcome You have pretty much given the right response, check that MAF connector, they can corrode and get deposites built up on them too. If you don't want to replace it, take a good look at the female pins in it and make sure none of them have been spread open, giving you an intermittent connection. If they all look good you could try soaking the connector over night in a 50/50 mix of viniger and water. Make darn sure to throughly rinse and dry the connector before hooking it up. The acid in the viniger will help to remove corrosion deposites and other crap on the pins.

Thanks for actually giving me some response...maybe the boards aren't so useless afterall.
