Running problem w/IROC

Coming home the Iroc knocked off & won't start up.Looked under the hood to find the wiring connector to the TPS came apart.Snapped it back together & started up drove her home.Later ran out to store & on the way home she started acting up & when I pulled over she shut off.Popped hood & this time the connector was together. Played w/ the connector got back in started up & drove home fine.Any suggestions?I'll be checking the voltage at the TPS 2morrow.

that alone is most likely your problem. I've noticed in working w/ my car that even a loose connection will reak utter havoc on an engine!! LOL, get that fixed and let us know if it still keeps up. Any idea on how it became disconnected?

I changed back to the stock runners the other day but I've prolly done that lots of times w/o ever having a problem.Car has over 160,000 miles on that switch so that's my thinking.

Check the voltage on the TPS with a digital voltmeter. Also, with the voltmeter hooked up, crank the throttle from idle all the way to WOT SLOWLY and see if there are any dead spots.

Check the connector and the wires out for any bare or worn spots.

Replace the TPS IF necessary, then go ahead and adjust the timing, minimum air and the TPS setting.

Well did it again after checking the wires running to the TPS>I'm beginning to think that it's in the MAF.A friend has a working one that I can switch to see if the problem goes away.Stay tuned.

Did you check the voltage on the TPS sensor as ctandc recommended? Should be around .54V with the TV closed.

Yep checked the voltage & wires and everything looked good.Reason I don't think it's the TPS is that it wouldn't cause the car to knock off then crank but not start if it was going bad.It would just run like crap. When it knocks off it cranks but won'y start until you play w/ wires.
