MAF not working??
I was reading through some posts that talked about the MAF on TPI cars.
To be honest, I have no idea what it does. My question is:
I bought my IROC about 2 months ago and have been slowly fixing things. I replaced the water pump a few weeks back and when I was all done, I turned the car on.... ran as it always had... I took it around the block - fine... I opened the hood to check for possible leaks and found that I'd forgotten to plug in the MAF sensor.
Why did the car run the same as it always had? Is it possible that mine is already bad?
I have had some idling issues that are sporatic, maybe the MAF?
Than ks

A good way to check it is to run the car with it plugged in and tap it with the handle of a screwdriver. If the idle changes at all or it wants to die, it's defective.
