Will This Cam Work

i have a 91 Z with a 350 tpi and have new dart pro1 aluminum heads (64cc 200cc). I was on sdpc2000.com and saw this cam, it's a chevy305-350 and its 214/224 durr at .050 and a lift of 488/509. It is part #12370845 on sdpc2000.com It says it can't be used with computer controlled engines, but it also says that fo the ZZ4 cam. So can I use this cam or no?

With heads as big as yours (200cc intake runner) it's a bit of a mismatch for TPI which pushes lower volumes at higher velocities. Those big runners are more suited to a Mini Ram.

I'd look at something bigger for a cam, like the Lingenfelter 219/219 cam.

The LT4 HOT cam on my car passes NJ emissions testing no problem. This year I got gutsy and left the MiniRam on, still blew clean as my wife's Honda and way under limits across the board.

It takes good software tuning (burn your own PROMs) but well worth the effort. A clean running engine is an efficient engine, and efficiency=power.

Where do the Dart Heads flow the best at???? I would look for a cam that has a big higher lift than the heads flow at.....and try to stay around 225-230dur @.050 and at least a 112LSA if you dont want to "have" to have a chip burned. BUT, the question is why spend all that money on heads and a cam, and then the computer not be able to keep up??? The comp 280HR might be enought to keep the heads happy, but the TPI will bottom out @4500rpm.....so you might want a cam that will co-incide with the TPI intake. Good luck.....
