ECM Swap Trouble Codes
I just did the 730 swap in my 86TA and now I have a code 41 and a code 43.
According to my 86 shop manual 41 is a Cylinder Select Error and 43 is a ESC error.
Do these codes mean the same thing to the 730 ECM?

Some codes will differ in meaning depending on which system you are running MAF or MAP

Code 41- This code is for a calpak error. Calpaks are made for a specific engine calibration and the wrong one will set this error code. Also suspect faulty connections on the ecm. If the fault returns after other corrections have been made, suspect a faulty ecm.
Code 43- This code is related to problems with the esc system. The code is usually set when there is a voltage detection of the wire going to the esc module to the ecm pin B7. The code will set whenever the engine is first started, and the ecm checks the function of the esc. Also once engine operating temperature is reached and the throttle is nearly open, the ecm will advance the timing until pinging is heard and then back off the timing. If the ecm does not detect the knock sensor operating, it will also set a code.

Thanks for the code breakdown DSmith.
Thanks to your breakdown I checked every connection to the ecm and all were correct. Then I decided to check and make sure GMPartsOnline.com sent me the right Memcal. Well when I took the cover off the Memcal it turns out it is an AUJP but I had it in the Moates adapter backwards.
I should have taken the cover off before putting it on there to see the orientation of the chips. Oh well lesson learned now she purrs like a kitten and idles much smoother*.
*note I have a massive vacume leak from the pass side PCV which affected the MAF but would make no difference to MAP.

Oops forgot to mention in the last post.
Code 41 is gone but I still have a code 43. I knew would come because I have yet to switch over to the proper knock sensor. I'll get around to that this week, so soon no more SES light.
