Starting problem Timing??
Ok , I changed my intake manifold and now i am wondering if i would time it first. In the tech articles it states warm up engine to normal running condition and then do the timing. So in my situation do I start my engine and then time or time it and then start my engine. Thanks!

In order for the engine to fire at all you need to have the base timing at least close to what it should be. If you remember the orientation of the rotor before you pulled the distributor, then you can put it back in just like it was. Then you should be able to start the engine and then set the base timing exactly by rotating the cap.

I thought I remember which way it came out and put it back but the engine won't fire up. So I should get it timed then instead of trying to get it the closest.
