fuel issues
Well, I got the car to run...FINALLY!!!!:lala: Turns out the problem was the wire from the coil to the distributor had broken and wasn't letting any spark get past the cap to the plugs.
The only problem now is, it only wants to run on starter fluid. It'll sit there and purr like a kitten until the stuff runs out. So obviously now, I have a fuel problem.
I've siphoned out as much of the 3/4 tank of year old gas as I could. I had to leave about 2-3 gallon in there because I just couldn't get any length of hose to it. I put in five gallons of 93 octane and still nothing. This morning, I put in a bottle of Iso-Heet to soak up any water that might be in the system. Now, it wants to idle on it's own, but only for a second or two. It's almost like it's getting gas, but not quite enough. I've got 46psi fuel pressure and I'm smelling gas in the cylinders.
What should I do?
1) Put in more 93?
2) Put in more Iso-Heet?
3) Change the fuel filter?
4) Get the injectors cleaned?
5) Replace injectors?
6) Fill in the blank.

Well here's a thought, have you pulled the spark plugs and checked them, with all you've been doing to your car I'm pretty sure they probably need replacing. BTW, I've got two more manuals since you were last on.

What's up, dude!? Long time, no hear.
All the plugs are new. I'd taken the old ones out so often, the ceramic started breaking. They were the cheap $1 header plugs from Autozone. I since got a set of higher quality plugs.
Someone mentioned in another thread on another board that my injectors are all clogged up from the dirty gas or have gotten varnished shut and I'm not getting enough fuel through them.
I'm gonna call around and see how much a cleaning will cost or possibly new ones.
Whatcha think?
