Couple of questions

Im just getting ready to get things together for my 406 build and was hoping for some help. The engine is going in a jeep that is built mainly for extreme trails and rockcrawling. I DEFINATLEY want to keep this as a pump gas engine. Here is what I have so far...

400 "509" block
Miniram
Eagle 6" rods
Eagle crank
Speed Density

Ok here's where the questions start...

Whats the difference between AFR 190 and the TPIS AFR heads?
52mm or 58mm throttle body?
ZZ9 cam good for this application?
Injector size?

Sorry if these are "newbie" questions, and thanks for all the help!

Just curious, why are you going with the Miniram? That's got a much higher powerband, and for rockcrawling, you usually want a powerful low-end.

Something with TPI and a nice 208/218 cam with gobs of lift and ported Vortec heads machined for the lift would give killer torque down low.

Then again, with 400ci, it may be difficult to much air through a TPI setup, but a LTR setup at least is going to be good for torque.

From everything that I have read, it seems as if for my combo, the stock TPI unit would be too small.

I am willing to give up some low end torque because I have such a low crawl ratio (4.3:1 low ratio with 5.13 gears). I do take the jeep to the dunes every once in a while and would love to beat my brothers LS1 powered jeep!

hey as far as the difference between the throttle bodies

52mm and 58mm obviously 58mm is bigger bore diameter and get a little more air into the engine with the 58
so therefore 58mm would probably be best choice

only thing i can help you with lol
