injectors or not?

i'm about to put my 87' iroc on the road in the next month. i got the car for 500 dollars, runs and drives good.

i'm tossing a new exhaust on there soon, but i'm not worried about that.

the car has about 100k miles on it. stock injectors.

i'm taking off the plenum and lwr intake manifold, cleaning it all and replacing gaskets. i'm thinking of replacing the injectors as well.

my question is,the car is operating fine. the injectors got some miles on them, and i might drop some dough just to replace them. think i should do this if it doesn't really need them?

i'm probably going to anyways, but just wanted to get a feel of what some of you thought.

IMO, the '87 injectors are some of the better ones from across the years. It may be worth it to send them off for cleaning, testing, and flow-matching instead of replacing them. For $12 apiece, you'll have a matched set of injectors, which is never a certainty with a replacement set - Even (or, especially) new ones. 100,000 miles is nothing, really.

Here's one option: Cruzin' Performance

No, I don't feel at all bad nor guilty about plugging a service, especially when I've had excellent service from them on several occasions.

My advice is, If its not broke, dont fix it. But while you got it all apart, I agree with Vader, and go with the cleaning...Tom

damn,i've always thought sending them out to be cleaned was much more than $12 a piece. thanks alot for that link. really appreciate it. i'll definatly be doin that. thanks again!

one question though. on the injector form,it says injector part number/type.
what's it mean 'type'?
