IAT Relocation
Searched...only found 2 matching threads. Anyhow, an IAT relocation is about 40 bucks and was wondering if it was worth the money? I don't expect to get 50 h.p. or anything..just wondering if it's a good thing to do. Thanks

Ok, not that I am trying to advertise for a company I use to work for, but Zip Corvette www.zipcorvette.com has the relocation sensor for your car. However as suggestion, check Ebay.... There are companies on there that sell a resistor that plugs into the plug that goes to the sensor! It is suppose to give the computer a constant reading that increases horse power. They are usually about $10. Or if you want , pay Zip about $40, for the same thing!!! Your call!

If you're burning your own chips, this won't be necessary. If you're not burning your own chips, and you've modded your engine siginificantly, you're missing out on more horsepower than a plug in resistor is going to take care of.

Just move the original IAT sensor to the front of the intake air routing. Add a little length to the wire. I went out and got a V6 air routing that had the sensor in the front by the filters. It (IAT) is a major heat soak in that plenum. On hot days in the summer I saw a temp reading of 120* once! I moved it to the front of the tract and have not seen it above 95*. That is the best way to do it. Besides burning your own chips.

Oh yeah. If you are actually going to relocate the sensor (as opposed to tricking it with a plugin resistor) that's a different story. It will indeed read more accurately I'm sure when its up front more. I can see my stock IAT heat soaking when I datalog and the car is left running, not moving, for a while.
