am i doing this right?
1.Start car adjust fuel pressure.
2 shut off car put on gauge.
3.Unplug vacuum and check psi.
4. shut off car unplug gauge
5. put vacuum back on
6. start car
7. adjust fuel pressure again.
Wanting to know if this is the right way to adjust fuel pressure.

I would connect the gauge, disconnect the vacuum hose and plug it, start the car, adjust the pressure to the 43.5 or whatever, shut off the engine, then disconnect the gauge.

can i plug the vacuum with my finger?
When i plug the vacuum it does not change the psi, i wasnt sure if it supposed to change or not.

If you adjust the fuel pressure to 45psi w/ no vacuum connected to the regulator, it should drop to ~36 or so PSI when you re-connect the vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator...depending on how much vacuum your engine pulls at idle.
