Sparking ...... NOT!

I need a list of everything I need to check to get spark. I've got crank (no, not that kind), ignition power going to the coil, power from the coil to the distributor, but no spark.

305 TPI, no smog, custom engine harness blended with 69 chevy harness (stock)

Is the distributor turning when you crank it over? If so, take your ignition module to O'Reillys (or where ever) and get it tested.

Make sure the coil-distributor plug type wire is plugged in as well.

I today changed the module where at the base of the distributor (where the plugs attach) and still no spark. I did, however, find a possible culprit. When checking the fusable links that attach to the main pole of my starter and go to the relays, I discovered the bolt on the starter main terminal was loose. I'm hoping that is part of the problem. It must be a metric bolt as I couldn't find one in my SAE arsenal to work. I will get it tightened tomorrow and try again, I'll keep you posted.

Thanks, bye-the-way, for responding.

Thanks for the post, I ran out and bought a new ICM, just recently replaced the coil and was hoping for the best.... nothing. I'm getting quite frustrated...... enought to start looking for a mechanic in the Sacramento area.

I bought the coil from Kragen, and noticed the box was considerably worn, like it had been returned before. Is there any way to test a coil?

I really appreciate your help, thanks for giving me things to check, it helps.
