Air pump question?
I was wondering if there would be any ill affects if I disconnect the 4 wires leading into the black airpump box that send air to the manifolds and cat. Will it just not turn on anymore and will I get an engine light or could it even hurt the engine. I am wondering this because im sick of hearing the noise of it run since it isnt connected to the cat and makes a stupid sound. I plan on removing all that crap once I put new heads, intake and cam on it.

The connectors on there are actually for solenoids. They don't control and noise. They may make a slight noise when they are activated/deactivated, but I was never able to hear mine. They are small solenoids. Disconnecting those plugs won't do anything for performance or anything else. Won't throw a code either.
If you want to eliminate any noise the pump may be making, you need to remove the entire pump assembly because it is belt-driven and runs constantly. The solenoids just control where the air is pumped to.

But if those solenoids are not connect that shouldnt allow them to open the let air go to the cat, that tube is what is making the noise, correct.

Oooh okay. I actually think air is diverted to the cat by default, and the solenoids change that when activated. One solenoid sends air to the manifolds, and the other sends air to the atmosphere...I believe. Best way would be to just remove it. You can just unbolt it and buy a different serpentine belt and re-route the accessories. Total cost...$15-20? plus you get a new belt, which is something that probably hasn't been replaced in a while anyways.

Thanks for the info, ill see what happens when i disconnect them. Just changed the belt on it so dont need to worry about that any time. Like I said once I do some engine work to it all that air pump crap will be coming off.

I just took my air pump off and pulled the guts (vanes) out of it and put it back on, but left off all the hoses when I put my headers on.

I removed mine and bought the idler pulley to put in its place.
The noise is generated by the AIR diverter valve (that stupid black box) and the actual belt driven air pump that is below the A/C. You can disconnect the diverter valves, but then the cat will just get the air and so will the atmosphere. Best thing to do is, if you dont have emissions or visual inspections is do what iceman did or get the idler pulley so that you dont have to worry about.
