clogged converter
i have a 305 tpi. within the past year i have added an msd ignition, fuel pressure regulator, 21lb injectors, headers, and removed the air tubes and smog pump. i have not changed the prom yet. Could these additions running like they are cause my converter to clog up? I was running without a converter but had to add one because i needed exhaust work done and no shop around here would touch it without one. That was eight or nine months ago, but now i think its clogged. Anyone have some info on this? Thanks.
How much did you have to reduce you fuel pressure to be able to properly run the 305 on those injectors?
You really should consider reporgramming. The different injectors and headers are enough of a change to indicate a need for some program updates. Even a completely stock setup can benefit from reprogramming.
Search the DIY-PROM board and archives for posts by TRAXXION about just how easy it can be to get into programming.

I replaced my old cat when the exhaust system was changed. The Catco cat lasted about 6 months and then clogged. After taking it off, the contents of the cat just poured out on the ground. Summit replaced it with no hassle about a year ago and still runs fine.
Does that answer your question or were you looking more for the symptoms.
I've heard that raw fuel can screw up a cat. The new injectors make me wonder, but thats a long shot. The common wisdom is, if you go to larger injectors, reprograming the prom is a must.
