need help with no start

need help with no start
working on a friends 91 camaro 3.1
replaced knock sensor for code 43
went to test drive vehicle and it died. tach is going crazy, no rpm indicated on scan tool and no injector pulse. ignition module, no problem right?!?!? but.... i got spark in and out of the cap! now wouldn't a bad module have no spark ALSO?!?!?! i guess if so then I'm looking at a computer! thanks for and ideas or tips ya'll can throw at me

ok it IS the ignition module. computer has its own tach signal from the module which is why i still had spark but no RPM on scan tool.
