Hello.

I'm putting together a 350 for my 86 IROC. It corrently has a 305 with orig. TPI. I see on the board here all about Mini Rams and siamesed runners and so on. All that seems fine but I'm trying to get a decent machine together without going bankrupt. The TPI stuff offered by TPIS etc is really up there in $ so I planned to do this.

Get the Vortec heads (iron) GMPP and combine that with the GMPP eliminator vortec alu. intake (single plane) and have it drilled and fitted with bosses for the (TPI) inj. and fuel rails. On top of this will go a 90 degree home made elbow (like seen in "Super Chevy" jan2001 (Accel?)) followed by the original throttle body bored out to 52 mm (fitted w. new butterflies).

I realize that this will hurt tourqe but I am moreso looking for some revs. The heads and intake will run appr. $750. That to me sounds like a good HP/$ ratio. I'm leaving cam/exhaust etc out of this question since that info is available all over the place.

what do you people think? Am I missing something here that will make me look like a dufus?

Scoggin Dicky is coming out with a TPI base for vortec heads January 15th. It's probably going to be pricy though. How hard is it to set up the carburetor intake for the fuel rail and injectors?

Having the intake made for fi will get pricey. Fuel rail stock isnt very cheap, yet alone the cost of machining. It will be cool if you do it. Good luck. Accell has something similar for 2000$ comes with everything including ecm, inj, tb, intake, rails, reg.
