What tranny is in the formula?
I've run with everything from LT1 vettes (95 and 93) to camaro LT1 6speeds. Pulled on the 95 vette and LT1 6speed from a roll. 92 pulled from me.

I only had SLP exhaust and a K&N filter at the time.

No one ever believes me though.

Same thing here. I've raced 3 LT1's and beaten them all, two six speeds and one automatic.

You can run against anything that is poorly driven....
My mid/high 14 second (not anymore) T/A TPI with 5.0 auto, single cat, minor mods, stock exhaust beat several 13 second cars on the street.
Key word street.....anything can happen there.

Plus people don't take thirdgen's serioulsy....L98'S run mid low 14's 96-97mph stock especially speed densitys.

LT1's run 13.7-14.2 99-103 mph....

On a low speed roll the L98 hangs with/exceeds the LT1 with the torque...but the LT1 will catch up.

So a L98 with minor mods can run/edge out a stock LT1.....

I have several tests for 93/94 LT1 f-bodies running high 14s. My car runs faster stock (14.5@92mph) in Hot Rod magazine (well not my car, but one just like it hehe).

All my races were from a roll, not a lot of talent is needed for that especially since the camaro LT1 I dogged was an auto.

My friends '96 M6 TA could only pull a best of 14.9 at mid 90s mph when he bought it. He tuned it up and changed the fuel pump and was pulled a best of 13.6 at 102mph.

LT1s are just like any other engine, if they're not tuned or have a small problem, they're not going to make the HP. Tune them and they're a beast.

Sparks a flyin'

I have seen 94/95 LT1's run low 14's/occasional 13.9 stock.97-99mph.
My one friend ran 13.7 stock(96 manual z28).....13.2's 107 with petty sh#t.
They will run once you uncork them, like the L98.

14.9's are horrible for an non convertible LT1.....that represents poor driving(usually the case in car mags),or a poor running car.

Plus remember the build quality is erratic with these cars, thus one could be a screamer from the factory, the next one could be a turd.

Actually, the early LT1s were some of the fastest, due to the speed density setup and different ratios in the T-56. Maybe .1 or .2 quicker than the 94s or 95s.
