what does it mean to gasket match?

probably a stupid question but just wondering since i have my plenum and my runners off polishing them right now. just finished the plenum extension today looks awsome!! will have pics when i get my digital camara. thanks for any help

gasket matching means placing your runner gasket over the runner holes (or any gasket/holes for that matter) and tracing around with a pen or pencil. Then you port all the way to those lines. Basically you are getting all the holes matched up exactly with the gaskets. If you look at the runner holes, you will notice some of them slightly vary in size. I never did it. The most important thing to remove when porting the plenum is the cast wall right behind the twin openings.

Hows the polishing coming along? Make sure you remove all the "cast" and remember to take your time on 400grit!

the polishing is looking great i have a mirror finish just like u said i would!! might go back and hit 400 all the way up again to see if i can bring out the shine just a tad more!
