Porting a TPI intake

Actually it is an aftermarket intake from First - larger runners with matched base, but the TPI design.

I will only match the ports of the intake, but what do I do with the big lump upstream of the injector inlet.

My first instinct is to "hog it out", but I think that would affect the spray pattern.

A Haltech is controlling it. This is for a Procharger on a 383 SBC.

The engine will be in a boat.

Thanks in advance.

Hog it out! The idea is to get as much air flow and as smooth as possible with these TPI intakes. You won't hurt the injector spray pattern by taking material out of the intake.
