L98 ALUM. HEADS WITH GUIDES AND SELF CENTERING?

I bought a set of used L98 aluminum heads from a vette yard a while back. When i got them i noticed they had pushrod guideplates and self centering rocker arms.
I've read it isn't good to use both together so the pushrods don't bind. I've used them this way for over 5,000 miles now with no problem.
Anyway, When i buy roller rockers should I get self centering or save the money and get regular ones since i already have guidplates?
thanx

get self-aligning. It is sooo much easier to deal with. IMHO it's a pain to screw with the guide plates, and then they still don't align as good as self-aligning. BTW-If you still have the centerbolt valve covers, you'll have to cut out about half the bracing inside the covers for roller rockers to clear.

How much did you pay for those aluminum heads? Do you know where I might be able to get my hands on a set.

non-self algiening roller rockers=guideplates
self algiening roller rockers=no guideplates

a lot of aftermarket heads don't need guideplates even if you have non-self algiening roller rockers.also you should use harden push rods with guideplates

Vette heads use guideplates and self aligning rockers. Plus there is no grinding needed for full rollers and centerbolts. i am proof of that
