What the hell is wrong with this thing???

Well the Formula has been acting up lately, it has some problems that I sense have something in common. First off, when I start the car in the morning it idles very strangely, like slow and struggling. If I let it sit for awhile and idle roughly, it seems to mostly come out of it, but if I give it gas, the car dies. Also, the car hesitates at low speeds and at WOT, the car doesnt want to shift and it stumbles, although at part throttle, this problem doesnt occur. Finally, the car seems to be down on power. I've been told it is the fuel filter clogging, and I haven't changed it yet, but I sense this isn't the problem. If anyone know what the hell could be wrong please help! Thanks!

Well I occasionally get the 'Service Engine Soon' light if that means anything.

jumper the A & B terminals on the Diagnostic connector turn the ignition on and check for codes... the SES light will flash 1 pause 2 flashes pause (code 12) 3 times and then if it flashes anything else you can use the code to diagnose the problem...
