Just need to know if th O\E tack is accurate?
The other day it looked like it passed the 7,000 RPM mark. It didn't seam like it was at that going that fast.

Yours doesn't sound accurate, I'd think at 7K the valves would be dancing around a little
Mine seems to be fairly close, maybe within 25rpms of what my scanner reads.

OEM tachs are pretty accurate....at least the ones that I've tested. Problem with them is the update speed. They are so slow to update that under quick acceleration, such as in a racing situation, that they may actually be about 500 RPM behind until a steady RPM is reached. They usually take about 1 second to update where aftermarket racing tachs can update much faster thus making them appear more accurate.
