Custom Fabricated Functional Air box for Baffle-less ram air 2 hoods

Well, the subject pretty much gets the scenario down.. but I was wondering if anyone has designed an air box setup for the Us body source/GT Auto Ram Air 2 hoods.. they aren't like the suncoast hoods in the fact they don't have a baffle setup to direct the air, and to let water drain..

I've been tossing around a few designs i've glassed.. and I'm getting close.. but was wondering if anyone has a prototype or anything done before I was any more time...

the setup I have currently is kind of hard to picture, but like this....

picture a rectangle box, like a shoe box, up against the front baffle openings... then have it choke down from the back of the box (rectangle) to a cylinder, say.. a coffee can for demonstrative purposes.. then it goes to the MAF to the TB...

The filter fits pretty nicely into the "shoe box" if you use a rectangle K&N....

just throwing some ideas out here, and sharing what i've found to see if anyone has any input or suggestions, or a URL to a page that sells one like it

And, I don't have pics yet, but I will very soon to better illustrate what my poor verbal skills are attempting to show...

Thanks!
Ben

Hrmm. reread my post and it isn't quite easy to decipher what the purpose for the post is My main concern is water drainage... a LOT of water gets sucked in those scoops, especially with an intake on them.. and hydrolocking an engine sure as h*ll isn't fun....
Also, another concern is securing it..i've temporarily worked out a system with securing it to the metal bracket on the radiator top support that used to hold the angled baffle box, but that isn't up to my level of quality i'm trying to achieve.

I am VERY interested in how this turns out. If you get one built and can make it quality, you may be looking at your first buyer. Any pics or updates you may have, email me if the guys here don't show any interest. Thanks in advance for attempting such an interesting/difficult project.

Ok, well a little update.. I did some drafting in CAD last night, and I came to a few conclusions for the water drainage issue.
The -only- way for it drain water correctly is to replicate the baffle system that is present on the real RA hoods, and on the Ram Air I hood with the air induction kit by Suncoast creations...

If you check out the air box kit on suncoastcreations.com, they show it with a rectangular K&N sitting flat right before the radiator, and a baffle setup built into the hood, not the box. This seems like the best method.

Without attaching my prints, here is the best way to illustrate this...

____________
/___
scoop -> )_ /

KN

where it goes in thru the paren, hits the back baffle, goes down thru the back next to the baffle. this -should- allow for sufficient drainage by the front baffling, which would not drain over the rectangular K&N which resides right under the baffling..

This is still very much the planning stage, and i probally confused everyone (if anyone is even reading this post...) but, I need some more ideas, suggestions, input, anything.. before I start laying more 'glass.... Thanks
Ben
