Mod questions

Hey, I have a '91 GTA 350 TPI. So far it has a K&N, Hooker Aerochamber catback, an airfoil and a 160 deg. thermostat. I have the chance to get a LT4 Hotcam fairly cheap. What else do I need to get to install the cam? What should I get with it to make it run best?

Would that cam be a good combo with: vortec heads, vortec tpi intake, SLP runners, ported plenum, and SLP 1 3/4 headers? Any power estimates?

Unless you plan on throwing a whole bunch of money at your car, the HOT cam won't help you out that much, and will probably make your car slower. Bare minimum requirements to use the HOT cam I would say are
#1. Hi-Flow base
#2. Good flowing heads
#3. 10:1 compression
#4. Chip burning capability
#5. Headers, cat-back

------------------
355 c.i.
Dart 180 Heads
Lunati 224/224 cam
Harland Sharp 1.5 rockers
Performer RPM Manifold
Holley 600 cfm double pumper
Hooker Super Competition Headers
Flowmaster Exhaust
Competition Engineering Sub-frame connectors
Tremec TKO
Pro 5.0 Shifter
GM posi 3.42 rear
Hurst Roll Control

I half agree with TPI Guy

Right now it wont help, but with the mods you listed It will. I'm not to familiar with THAT cam, but if the duration is at or over 220 you can forget it untill you have some new heads/base.

Good luck!

Yeah I wasn't going to put it in until I had those things to install with it. But do I really need to raise the compression to run it??
