How does my combo look

Ok with the demise of my 355 last year and my cousins resent purchase of a 2010 SS I am planning a new motor and wondering if you could critique the parts I've chosen.

Shortblock I will be having the stock L98 rebuilt with new bearings and rings etc.
-How much shoud I expect for a rebuild?

Heads I have been looking at a set of Patriot vortec 185cc heads good price and good #'s, with a max lift of .575 also a set of 1.6 rockers

Cam I am drawn between a compcam's XFI 260 and XFI 268 my tranny is set to shift at 5500 RPM WOT which is the max power range of the 260.

Intake The FIRST vortec style intake been looking and talking to them and I really like this intake.

I also have a 10bolt with 4.11's and an Eaton, and a tranny built for 450 horsepower already so I dont need to worry about the strength of those. Even tho I will probably swap those 4.11's for 3.55's later

I know I won't be able to keep up with that 2010 it ran a 14.3 at 5800' elevation so a 13.3-13.0 corrected. Im looking for a mid 14 set up that I can cruise more then race.

My questions are...
Do these parts seem to match the powerbands of eachother without one choking the other out?
Are there better alternatives to the parts I've pick and/or what would you have done different?

Thank you! Any imput is apperciated!

You'll probably get a lot of varying opinions, but there's nothing wrong with the parts you've listed - especially if you want to run 3.55 gears. With the 3000+ stall speed you might want to go with a little larger cam and increase the shift point. What exhaust system are you running? That'll influence cam choice. With that converter, FIRST, Vortecs, and the right cam, exhaust and suspension,, it'll run a lot faster than mid-14s - lol.

Re: How does my combo look

I sent an pm to Dyno Don to see if those vortecs will work with his headers, because those heads are straight plugs. The rest of the exhaust is a flowmaster. I am going to take your word on that cam and go for the bigger one . This has been alot thank you

Oh an anyideas on how much a rebuild will be? I am kind of worried to take it to the guy I usually take my vehicles he does amazing work but you pay for it.
