bad fuel pump?

Hey guys, iv got an 88 formula that will run bad
(serge, miss) for about 1min after a cold startup (sitting over night), once it "clears up" its fine. Just recently it has stalled on me a couple times. right after it stalls it wont start.. this had happend twice. ill let it sit for 15 mins? and it will start right up. The first time it happend I could keep it running (but barely) with WOT. but after the 15mins it will start right up like nothing ever happend? im strapped for cash atm so i figured in get some opinions first.. Also, i dont smell fuel and i cant hear the fuel pump kick on during this time (or when its running warm). i can however hear it when i start it for the first time in the morning, (maby im deaf). any ideas?
