random idle issues/ hard to recreate

so seeing as ive been thru a set already i ohmed my injectors hot and cold. cold they are all 18.1-18.4. hot it goes 1-8.... 16.4,17.0,15.7,17.2,16.4,16.4, 16.7,16.3. im on my third maf, warranty of course. i am getting code 45, rich exhaust. newish 4 wire o2 sensor{ 4 months old}. my blm hit 108 and my int settles around 112 when it starts to act up. i cant tell a difference while highway driving but at a stop light it will stall. starts right back up till it comes down. i also get a gas smell when this happens. i recently filled up the other day and it seemed to start 50 miles into that tank. wondering if maybe fuel made it into my canister? all emissions stuff is there and functioning. recently removed my headers and put stock manifolds back on. car has also been running hotter then usual. tps is at .54v and min idle speed is set as per book. timing is the stock 6*btdc. car was converted to maf from tbi and had no issues otherwise. new motor just came maf and for what i wanted to do it was a better system.

i cant afford to just throw parts at it and that isnt how i like to work. im a diesel mechanic for a living and i don't replace parts that aren't bad unless theirs an explanation. i DO have a scantool/ modis to take any needed readings to help in this one.....
thanks for any ideas. just helps when i have people to bounce ideas around with

Re: random idle issues/ hard to recreate

timing is set at stock. no fuel coming from fpr when hose is removed. pressure was 37 pounds when running. holds for 10 mins or more when shut down. all filters serviced. i am reading that filling the tank { topping it off} can cause fuel to go to the charcoal canister. feeling kinda dumb right now if that's the case...
