Engine turned off while at red light?

In the last couple of weeks it's been really hot and my car has been running good until one day I caught a red light and my car just shut off.yesterday I made a quick run to the store and caught another red light and it shut off again.the check engine light did come on for about 10 seconds then it went away.i put the car in park an started it back up and everything was fine but since I can't get any codes from the car I want to see if any one can tell me what's going on.

Re: Engine turned off while at red light?

I had something similar happen to me this past weekend. Sitting at a light and BAM she shut off. Then she started dying when I went around corners. Each time I would start it back up and everything was ok until I turned another corner. AND it didn’t do it all the time. I scanned the internet and found mostly people talking about the amount of gas I had which made no sense as I had 1/2 a tank.

Anyway, my husband blew some seafoam through the system. We drove it around and I took her to work yesterday. Havent had an issue sense. It's a little strange to think a dirty carb can cut your engine off like that.
