Distributor question

Hi guys,

when removing my distributor cap on my 86 5.0 TPI , I noticed that there were two plugs on the cap but also a small plastic covered "earth Connector"

does anyone know where this should go ?

Many Thanks

Re: Distributor question

I think somebody cut the crap out of your wiring, everything is a plug and play on the distributor.

Re: Distributor question

thanks for the pics , the distributor on mine has the two connectors which are perfect however this small single "brown connector" comes out of the same loom as the other two connectors, it may meant to be unplugged but I would rather check

mine is the dizzy with the coil pack on the top, its an 85 model

you can see the brown connector in the pic

Re: Distributor question

That connector does plug into the distributor. That is the tachometer signal wire.

Re: Distributor question

In your photo, do you see where the dirty red wire plugs into the cap?

Notice where it plugs in, there's the words "BAT" molded into the cap? Right next to where it reads "BAT", it reads "TACH".
