Please help, No Injector pulse after first start.

I am at my wits end with this car. I have a 1989 Iroc with a 5.7. I bought it and the guy could only start it with starting fluid, I have been searching for 2 months trying to find out the problem. I can start the car first time np, fires right up. But after that it just cranks and cranks.

Things I have done.
new distributor
ignition control module
fuel pressure regulator
oil pressure sending unit
fuel filter
ecu
vatz bypass with chip
tps checked
collant tempature sensor
ohmed all the fuel injectors
fuel pressure checked

I used a noid light and noticed I have fuel pressure but the injectors are not pulsing. I can spray a little starting fluid in the tb and it starts right up and runs good.

I need to add the car sat for about 2 years. I am close to burning this car to the ground .

What do the injectors ohm out at ?
have you wiggled the wiring back next to the distributor ?

It was like 16 across all of them. The wiring looked good when we replaced the distributor.

My first question almost was what is the fuel pressure with the key forward after the pump primes and does the pressure hold, however, if the injectors aren't firing, either that VATS bypass wasn't done right or you have an electrical issue. Have you checked fuses and relays et al?

the ninth injector is separate from the other injectors. It gets powered while cranking if the timer switched is closed.

the vats would either work or not. Post #4

Have you cleaned the grounds on the backside of the passengers cylinder head ?

When you say new distributor, do you mean a complete unit? And if so, why did you replace the ICM after that? What is your fuel pressure with the key on, and what is it after that first fire? Does pressure maintain before, during and after cranking? Which coolant temp sensor did you check or replace?

You've checked or replaced everything that is associated with a no pulse condition. I'd check the grounds that Tuned Performance mentioned and then just for fun, the next time you are cranking see if the tach is bouncing or moving.

Also 89 doesn't have a 9th injector.

You say the car starts the first time but how long do you have to wait before you can restart the car? Can you start the car immediately turn it off and then restart it? Just trying to see if it's a heat related problem.

Still have this issue ready to just burn it to the ground lol. It now doesnt start the first time just cranks, still turns on with starting fluid.

If you truly have no injector pulse then you need to figure out if you are losing 12v to the injectors, or losing the ground from the ECU driver.

I am thinking it's the wiring from the icm or maybe the coil. Going to check the grounds tomorrow.

It runs pretty good, I need to redo the timing since I tried swapping the distributor. I only checked one injector with the noid light.
