injectors

on the business end of the stock injectors there is a plastic piece that seems to be a cover...is it a major problem if these are missing? I put new o-rings on the injectors while putting my intake back together and a couple of those plastic pieces broke off.

I'm sure you're referring to the pintle caps. Mine broke when I took mine out too but I replaced them with 24# LT1 injectors and they're made differently so they don't have those. Anyhow, to the point, I don't know if you can use them w/out those but I'm pretty sure you can buy the pintle caps and they just snap on there. A second option would be to just send the injectors to Cruizin Performance and let them clean and flow match them for $10/injector. They not only clean and flow match them better than they were from the factory but they also put new screens, pintle caps, and o-rings on them.

Did my intake gasket this weekend and some of my pintle caps were broken also. Looks like they help to keep the o-rings in place so I just removed the broken pieces and used them as is.

Got the timing set today finally and the car is hauling A*S. I'm looking to replace he injectors though. Just don't like the idea of them being in such bad shape. Working good for now though.
