buying another bird
buying another bird
hey guys, this is my first post here at third-gen. Normally I hang out at the TBI section because that's what i have right now. A 1992 Firebird 305 TBI. She was my first car and my first bird. I love her to death but she wasn't what i originally wanted. I need your opinions on a car that i found that is very much like what i want. I am going to see her on thursday. She's a 1985 350 TPI. Supposedly it has GTA options and such and is black. The guy wants something like $2800, but i will try to drop him to about 2500. What do you guys know about this year. Any probs, is it good? I would apreciate any feedback at all. Thanks alot guys.

As long as you know its not a factory 350, just make sure he actualy put in a 350 and its not a 305 car hes selling. Only real way to do is to take off a head and check the bore though........
i know, i realized right after posting this that GTA's were not made unti 1987 & that in 1985, there were NO 350's in a stock T/A...thanks for your imput.
PS...i am pretty new at mechanics of a car, but i am figuring that removing a head is quite difficult, but if it isn't, how will i know it is a 350 by looking at the bore?
