Holley Stealth Ram
Holley Stealth Ram
An alternative to the TPIS Mini Ram/ Accel Super Ram?

They say they'll sell it as a stand alone system, or as a replacement induction system for TPI.
Has anyone heard what the price will be? I'm not counting on it being cheap, but maybe a bit less spendy than TPIS?

I too am waiting for deatails on that intake. Ive always been a fan of the tunnel ram intakes. I can see it working pretty well in a fuel injected setup. I know they can flow a ton of air and the air passages down to the valves are shaped to increase air velocity. Hopefully this will lead to miniram type flow with a smaller torque penalty. I really hope they can make it smog legal, because I would rather run one of those than deal with a super ram.
I wouldn't count on it being that much cheaper than the miniram or superram, or piecing together a highflow system. If you read the description its requires it's own fuel rail setup, which we all know jacks the price up. It's also a 2 piece manifold, which again jacks up the price. On the other hand Holley has been known to offer things at lower prices to get in the market and beat out competitors. Their systemax II setup for instance is several hundred dollars cheaper than piecing together a complete edelbrock performer rpm setup (heads, cam, manifold, etc.) And the Ford stuff is reasonabl If i had to bet on it I'd put my money on about 2-3 bills less than a complete miniram setup. The ford systemax 1 kit is 600 bucks from summit and is the lower manifold and cam. Upper and lower manifold from jegs are about $700. the chevy unit will probably be about the same, plus the cost of the fuel rail kit which will probably be a couple hundred bucks. So say around $900, complete miniram will run you aruond 1200, Superram about the same with the recent price increases.
Spend $400 bucks and get the LT1 intake conversion from millican. Save money, get better performance, and support a fellow thirdgenner all at the same time.

I'm very interested in this also. As I've been researching which intake setup to get, I couldn't understand why someone hadn't designed one like this. It still has some length to the runners for better low end torque, it's nice and narrow (no install problems like Super Ram), and it seems to have a much better airflow path into the heads then the competition. I hope they can reasonably price it and include EGR. I guess that's the end of my idea to design an intake like this and make a few bucks for myself while doing something right

What drives me nuts is that all sorts of companies have had a similar big-block setup for years. I know that on www.tunedport.com they have a big block setup that uses a TPI-ish plenum (Even has the distributer cover) that sits on top of an intake just like the bottom half of that holley unit, and AFAIK, the bottom half of that holley unit isn't much different than the EFI tunnel ram intake they already sell. It's just a matter of getting the plenum.

That doesn't sound real bad for the manifold, especially if the plenum is priced similarly.
BTW, tunedport.com just got back to me. The setup I was talking about.... $2700
I emailed back to ask how much just the manifold and plenum is. We'll see..
