i am in a pickle of a situation here
alright guys i have a debate here. i have my 383 in the sig below and was going to put in a th350 beefed up behing it. well i do have a th400 that i took out of the elcamino and it looks to be in good shape. when the pan was removed it was surprisingly squeaky clean. should i throw in a shift kit and a convertor in the 400 or save up and get a new 350? and if i go with the th400, i need a driveshaft from a 200r4 correct? does anyone know how long that driveshaft is since i have 4 driveshafts laying around?

it is my impression that the TH-400 is the stronger unit, I believe that they were used alot behind big blocks and in heavy duty trucks. it should be the better of the two, as far as driveshafts go, I don't have a clue but I'm sure that someone else will chime in here.

hmm, i think the driveshaft should be the same lenght as the 700r4, its the th350 that needs a longer shaft(i did the 700-th350 in my 89 rs) and the 200 will fit the th350, not the 400, u should be good

and another question, has anyone attempted to make the torque arm mount rather than buying? i have some spare metal and a welder i was thinking it might not be to hard. any thoughts. if it doesnt work i will just buy it.

i was lucky enough that the tailshaft off my old 700 worked and i didnt need one, though i only have about 1/4" of torque arm, if anyone knows where to get torque arm mounts for th350 send me an email
