stall recommendation
I have a 406ci smallblock just wanting to know what size stall TH350 , 327gear, 230 degrees duration cam and 480'' lift

Best bet would be to call up a manufacturer. They ask you for that info and some other stuff too. Theyve already done the R&D so you might as well use it. My guess is that it would be 500 or so above stock.

with those cam specs i think a 2500 stall would be a good match but depending on the remainder of your set up you may be better off steppin up to a 3000,if you watch your tach and see where the car is pulling hard at that is roughly where i would put the stall speed at......my old set up was a cam a little bit larger with a 236@.050 and 536 lift i had a 2800 stall and i fealt the car started pulling hard at 3200,so i borrowed a freinds 3500 stall and picked up 3 tenths so examine your car closely and it will almost tell you exactly what it needs,back in the day we would test the car with a video camera to watch the tach,speedo as well as the air fuel meter play it back at home to see what the car was needing and found we needed to pay much closer attn, to the tune up......good luck
