I am sure you could but how bad do you really want to? I am sure you could rig up a lazer temp reader to aim inside the bell housing. I would check to see if there are any build it your self kits or plans and adapt those to work down there on the bellhousing.

You could rig up a non-contact unit I suppose. I know a guy who lost his fairly new CF clutch in the woodward cruise a couple years ago. He went back to an automatic...I now have his T56 Sucks for him

I really think the lazer temp would work the best. the ones you get from snap on and such places is very good. I would bet there are kits you can build

here is one of many cheap ones

If you really want to get technical, and you are doing some serious weekend racing, Ive heard of guys using a leaf blower between rounds. Overheating it can cause slippage, or it will grab hard, depending on the materials its made of. If you feel
you need it cooled on a hot day, on long cruises, then by all means do it. Your clutch will definatley benifit from it....Tom

why not go with a lower rear gear so you dont have to ride the clutch as much?

that wouldn't really matter in stop-and-go traffic

I could see that helping if you were in slowly-rolling traffic, as you wouldn't have to ride the clutch.
