Tach will usually drop ~500rpm or so when the TCC locks, depending on your engine load at the time.

I ask because since going with my pro-built and vig 2400 alot changed. 1-2 is very short, then what appears to be 2-3 is also fairly short. It will hold until say 30 mph and then drop once more, significantly. Almost like another gear. And I still have OD left. The car shudders a little during this last rpm drop before OD.

That sounds like the TCC locking. If you have a "slippery" converter with a higher stall than stock, the RPM drop will be much greater and more noticeable.

Right on. I am just really paranoid about all these little things and figured I would make sure.

I was able to smooth mine out w/ the Vigilante by increasing the lock/unlock speeds in software.

Easy to do following the DIY-PROM forum stuff.

Well, when you're at highway speed (50 mph or higher) and just cruising (low rpm), keep your right foot steady on the gas, and with your left foot, press your brake pedal slightly down- about an inch- just enough to turn on the rear brake lights.

That'll disengage the TCC, RPMs should go up a bit. Let up on the brake pedal, and you'll go back into lockup.
