2 series and 3 series carriers

Ok I have an 86 sc with a stock open rear (I was informed this is a 26 spline) and stock gear ratios. Im looking at summit to find a posi carrier and I was offered a 2 series carrier and a 3 series carrier. My question obvioulsy is which one do I chose (I plan on putting in at least 3.23 gears, maybe 3.73). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sort of depends on how you want to get to where you're going. you can run a 2 series and a shim and be able to run 3 series gears, or 2 series without the shim, or a 2 series and 3 series gears made to work with a 2 series, or a 3 series and only 3 series gears. if you're sure you'd never want to run 2 series gers i'd get a 3 series.
