(spohn) extreme DS vs. Stock aluminum (LS1)
It is my birthday on saturday and as a present I asked for a driveshaft but I am not sure what to get. I like the fact that the LS1s have that damper on them, so that makes them an atractive option, but then there is the spohn extreme DS which I would guess is stronger. What do you think I should order???
The car is a 500 HP fully forged 384 motor backed by a T-56 and a Moser 12 bolt with 4.11s. It will be seeing a little N20 here and there, but not really. This beast is a street car afterall, lol.
But really please give your best opinion. Cost is not an issue. They are both in the same ballpark. THX

spohn no doubt, their probably balanced better than the ls1 shafts.
the stock ls1 shaft is good for mild thirdgens since they are relativiely cheap and well balanced versus other gm fbody alum. shafts.
u cant slack on driveline parts. u seem to know what ur doing with the 12 bolt and other goodies
some people twist the stock ls1 shafts with clutch dumps on mild ls1 cars. espeically with slicks and drag radials.
if u want to stay aluminum u want to check out denny's most likely.
good luck and sounds like an awesome car u have.

Inland Empire makes a good aluminum drive shaft as well. All their's are NHRA certified.
