rearend?

Car: 1986 Pontiac Trans Am
Engine: 305 stock
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: Stock, 2:73 gears
rearend?
i was wondering if anything from my 1991 S10 would fit in my rearend on my 1986 Trans Am? i think they both have the 7.5 10bolt? unless im wrong, but i think my S10 has 3:73 gears in it... would these work or am i just wating my time?

Axle/Gears: Three 8 3/4's & one 9 1/4
The gearset itself will work, but you have to change to a 3-series carrier to be able to use them. The S-10's used 28 spline axles, your T/A has 26 spline. Youre going to have to fine a 3-series 26 spline carrier to be able to use 3.23 or numerically higher gears.
