700R4 swapping questions.
I've done this before with the same tranny that was rebuilt but now I can't wait for that and I'm getting a 700R4 from a reliable person. I'm kinda iffy on what years/models I can get a 700R4 from. Does the v6 make a difference. TPI vs TBI any difference in there. Output shaft splines and difference in there between the many years. How about the torque arm? Anything change with that?
PS If everything goes to plan than the camaro will be back on the road! woohoo.

The decent ones are '88+... You need to get one for a V8, the V6 ones are not only different internally, but also have the wrong bellhousing. TBI/TPI doesn't really matter..

Any problems with the electrical connections between those years. Speed sensor?

I believe it was 87 and up that received the improvements over the previous model. I have a th700 in my 87 and its been great. Shifts nice and firm.

Yeah the speed sensor is different than oth older tranny. Just a simple swap of the newer sensor and the older gear and no problem.
