Torque Arm Bushing

I am in the process of trying to change my Torque Arm Bushing. I have the car on jacks in all four corners, I have my crossmember out. The bolts are too long to pull out of the transmission, How do you get the bracket out to change the bushing???

I appreciate any insight...

Re: Torque Arm Bushing

There is one bolt near the top its only like an inch or so long. Its the only one that holds the two halfs of the bushing together. Undo that one and the bushing comes apart.

Re: Torque Arm Bushing

I ended up taking the whole bracket off. I could get the half to open enough to take out bushing... I don't think I could have gotten the rivots out anyway.

Now I need to get it back in there....that should be just as fun!!!!

Mine was held on by the 1" bolt and the upper 10" (est) bolt. I had to drop the drive shaft and use a crow bar to push the tail shaft over enough to get the bolts back in. Worked pretty well then.
New Transmission bushing and Torque arm bushings are in and working well!
