Did you have to do anything with the servo with the B&M kit?

There is a seal on the 3-4 apply piston that can cause what you are talking about. Happened to me when I switched servos, seal was pinched and I had no OD.

Sparks a flyin'

When you removed the spring from the mtv valve, did you put the valve in backwards?

The b&m doesn't have a servo kit with it.

It's the only thing I could think of...sorry. Hope it helps, but I guess going back through and checking it is the only way...

Also there's a small relief hole on the pan gasket rail from the servo area. Make sure the gasket doesn't cover it.

One, B&M doesn't make a Shift Kit.
Two, you likely tore the Teflon seal on the small piston that goes into the Servo Cover (BTDT).

They don't make a shift kit?

I WOULD RATHER PUSH A CAMARO THAN DRIVE AN IMPORT

1983Z28 350w/ edelbrock performer RPM power package with 64cc aluminum heads, dynomax shorty headers, 700R-4 with shift kit, 750cfm carb, edelbrock 3" exhaust system, ASCD SS hood, 16" IROC rims.

future mods:
completely done over suspension, black paint with flames, Hurst shifter, dakota digital gauge package, procharger supercharger.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! So those products that B&M markets as shift kits, those are really...placebos?

No wonder they suck.

Shift Kit is a registered trademark of TransGo. B&M makes shift improver kits. To call anything else a shift kit would be like having a Ford Camaro. To complain about a Shift Kit when it isn't one can give people the wrong impression.
