Ok when i shift my car into reverse it takes like 5-10 seconds to engage. what could be the problem?

 

If i shift into drive it kicks in right away.

 

Have the same problem when starting from cold, takes ages to find reverse or drive, rev it hard and it finally starts to move slowly, no problems once warmed up or driven for a while, any help appreciated......

 

uh oh.... more problems, now I cant get 3rd... shifts from first to second fine, then when shifting into third it has no or very little drive... almost like shifting into neutral.... going to fiddle about with the TV cable but any suggestions appreciated
