manual or auto?

I have a 700R4 tranny that has been rebuilt. It has a corvette servo, shift kit, tranny cooler, 3000rpm stall. If I were to switch to a built 5 speed assuming I can shift really well in the 1/4 mile would I do better? My engine is probably making around 450ft/lbs of torque so what type of a 5 speed should I go with that can hold that power? My hp and torque numbers will be over 600 within the next year or two when I'm done with the car. Can any 5 speed take that or at that point would I have no choice to go with a built automatic? I heard the manuals are weaker than the autos. Could someone please straighten up some of this info because I am probably wrong on half this stuff since its not from reliable sources.

Engine: 350 Crate Motor
Transmission: Tremec TKO
Axle/Gears: 10 Bolt 3.73
With that kind of power you'd have to run a TKO ($2000) or a Richmond ($2-3000),or maybe even a Jerico 4 speed($2000+)or a Liberty ($3500+)if you went to to a manual.
Clutch will be big money too.
In my opinion, you'll be better off drag racing with an automatic, though that 700R4 may not hold up either.
Maybe a TH400 with a Gear Vendors overdrive if expense is not an issue and you need more than three gears.
