I have a 91 firebird that orig came out with the 3.1 with overdrive. The PO swapped it to a 305 with overdrive. When I bought the car about two months ago I drove the car home and it shifted fine.

I drove the car for about a total of 40 miles from when I picked it up.
Went out today to drive it around and the trans shifts into gear normally, but between 1-2 it shifts really early around 900 rpms if you drive it like a granny, but if you push it a little hard it shift normally from 1-2 but the issue i really have is I do not have Drive or ODrive what so ever. I can rev up to 4-5k and the trans seems it is in neutral.

Does anyone else had/have this issue and know how to fix it?
This is the most mind boggling issue I have ever came across...

Oh trans fluid is bright red doesn't smell burned and is full.
