aluminum shaft and lt1 starter 1987 iroc z

hello again,i just wanted to put my little two cents in on this aluminum vs steel driveshaft conflict.i have had a bad vibration in my car at about 80-100mph,i had my steel shaft rebuilt with new ujoints and balanced,it helped alittle but i still had vibration at high speed.so i decided to go with alumium shaft to fix the problem, and yes it did.i was reading stuff on here about mass plus rotation equals force at 3000 rpms?????.if your like me the only thing you need to know is that it fixed my vibration problem.also installed an lt1 starter on my 305tpi and it also works like a champ.

Damping a vibration doesn't fix the problem. If you have a driveline angle issue (due to a thicker-design poly trans. mount or other reason,) you'll just end up with shorter u-joint, driveline, or related bushing or bearing life.

Agreed on the LT1 starter.
