T5 swap, no 1st or 2nd gear?
Did a WC t5 swap on my 91 z28, new clutch and the works. It locks into 1st and 2nd, but wont move, and if you push the shifter forward in 1st with the clutch out, engine running, it grinds, same with 2nd. 3rd,4th,5th and reverse work perfect. 1st has worked 1 out of 10, it actually moves, but haven't gotten 2nd to work at all. New master and slave, bleed to perfection. Any thoughts?

Did you pull the top cover before the swap? Always a good idea to do that and inspect everything. While in there replace the speedo gear to the right one and replace any worn shift fork items suck as the finger pads.

I didn't tear into it before I put it in. Bought it from hawks, they said it was solid, but turned out that fork was shot along with 1st and 2nd. Lessons learned

I would be on the phone with hawks ASAP and get them to fix or replace on their dime

Yup...
It's not like Hawks has ANY WAY of knowing what's inside that transmission. What happens is, a wrecked or rusted out car comes their way, and they tear it down and sell the parts. They aren't responsible in any way for what condition the parts are in, except that if they told you it was good and charged you for a good one, they owe you a good one. They're fairly reputable about such things so you should be able to work it out satisfactorily with them one way or another. I doubt they'll "fix" it; more likely, they'll either swap it out for another used one (since that's what you probably paid for, not a "rebuilt" one), or just give you your money back.
