PBR. Good stuff. Assuming it's a thirdgen rear, it'd be a nice setup to stuff with a nice limited slip and good gears. Only bummer is the calipers and carriers will run a few hundred after core charges.
FWIW, those backing plates will only easily bolt up to a disc rear.

What year were the PBR's installed? How easy is it to get the calipers and carriers?

89-92, and 93-97. You'll want the right calipers for the year of rear. They're as easy as going to your favorite parts store or Rock Auto and placing an order. You're looking at about $130 per caliper/carrier if you don't have a core to trade in.
For simplicity, use the entire rear in the picture. Trying to swap the parts to a different rear just complicates things.

that pic shows the brackets?
take a look on ebay I have seen a set of the PBRs sold as a refurb for under $200 not long ago..just get the Ebrakes after that..
also notice.the zink plate on the brackets..rust proof..
with the right wheel you can swallow the brakes

rust proof..
Rust resistant, yeah maybe, to some extent. That other, ... not if there's a single iron atom anywhere in the metal alloy.

The Zinc coating is sacrificial. It'll corrode differently than steel, but it'll still corrode. When it reaches a certain point the steel will start to rust. Take a rear axle from Minnesota or South Dakota that was driven in the winter and the backing plates won't be nearly that nice.
You can buy the calipers with the carriers, and most of the hardware, but most if not all of the calipers I saw when I was looking didn't come with the E-brake cable brackets and springs. Flynbye has the E-brake bits, apparently...
Also for the trivia minded... The Cardone "Remanufactured" PBR calipers I bought, came in boxes labeled "New" and "Made in China". The calipers are a slightly different casting than the 1989 vintage parts I was replacing, and didn't have the PBR markings anywhere on them either. It would appear that there are aftermarket copies being produced now. My cores were so corroded and shitty, I didn't really mind turning them in. For the $80 in core charges, I figured I'd let them have em. LOL

Re: What Brake Mounting is This?
I want to thank all of you for the information given. One last question... the casting # is 22522676. Is this third or fourth gen?

Not sure the casting number is going to tell you much of anything useful. The 4th gen rear is longer, some of them have ABS or TCS sensors... Length is probably the easiest thing to check, there's something like a 2 or 3" difference in width.

Re: What Brake Mounting is This?
A little backing plate info, there were 2 styles used on the 89 pbr disc rear.
1st design was a 2piece with dust shield, very flimsy and had brake moan with light pedal psi backing up.
2nd design was like the part the OP posted. It is much thicker with the edges bent over for strength to help cure the brake moan issue that plagued the 1st design. 2nd design carried atleast until 92 then whenever it changed it went to a cast iron bracket.
I have 2 89s 4,000ish apart by vin, 1 with the 1st design and the other has the 2nd design.

That's the 1st design. The dust shield is spot welded on and can easily be removed.
